Love's Fire is a journey into eleventh century Persia to discover the creation of one of the world 's most enduring epic love poems. Nezami Ganjavi is a celebrated poet, haunted by the love of his long-dead wife. He is estranged from his son and cynical about the power of poetry to fill men's hearts with love. Extracts of verses from Nezami's poem "Layli and Majnun" are performed in classical Farsi within the play.
